DIY Doilies

We recently discovered the cutest linen decorating tip from Martha Stewart Weddings: Paper Doilies! Paper Doilies are inexpensive and can be found at just about any craft store. These pretty and elegant pieces of paper can add that special touch to your table settings! Lay a cluster of paper doilies across your table linen to create an inspired table runner or place them on top of each place setting with the name of the guest to designate for seating.

The best part is how simple this beautiful touch is to put together on your own! All you will need is a large stack of small paper doilies, some white string, a sewing needle, and a wreath frame, which can be bought at any local craft store.

Simply fold each doily four times through the middle to create a cone shape. Then attach a sewing needle to your string and poke through the doilies, pulling your string through to create stacks. Make several strings with varying heights to create a chandelier. You can attach the strings to a metal wire, such as, a wreath frame and then hang your doily chandelier with long pieces of ribbon. For decorative chair ties we recommend topping the ends off with ribbon tied into bows.
